How the estimate is calculated
- Hourly rate is annual salary divided by 2,080 paid hours (52 weeks of 40 hours).
- Each problem area you pick adds a share of working time the agents can take on. The shares add up.
- That total is scaled by an industry multiplier.
- It is scaled again by how much room there is: at 70% current efficiency the total grows by 30%; at 95% it grows by 5%.
- The result is capped at 50% of working hours.
- Hours saved per week times team size times hourly rate gives weekly savings; we use 4.33 weeks per month and 52 per year.
- The starting price is $25 per governed seat/month plus a platform fee from $1,000/month. This estimate uses the starting platform fee and excludes usage-based consumption. ROI is net annual savings divided by the estimated annual cost; payback is cost divided by monthly savings.

Worked example
The calculator’s starting values: 10 people earning $120,000, working 40 hours a week at 70% efficiency in technology, with Code Review and Bug Fixing selected.
- Problem areas add up to 35%, times 1.2 for the industry, times 1.30 for efficiency, is 54.6%, capped at 50%: 50% of time.
- That is 20 hours a week per person, worth $600,000 a year across the team.
- At this starting price, Telara costs $15,000 a year, leaving $585,000 net and paying back in 0.3 months.
